INCOME TAX REFUND IN SAME FINANCIAL YEAR -CHECK YOUR STATUS

you may not need to wait much longer for that income tax refund.The Income Tax department is working on a plan to expedite refund claims and make pending payments within the current fiscal year.

This would be for the first time that I-T refunds are made within the fiscal year in which the claim is filed.

“It is a part of our process of expediting the tax refund process,“ a senior official at Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said. “Our plan is to complete refunds against the returns filed in the current fiscal.“

The I-T department paid out refunds of R53,688 crore during April to January in the current fiscal against R38,721 crore a year ago -a growth of over 38%.

“The department aims to clear the backlog as well,“ the official said. “At present 90% o the processing of refunds ha been completed this year.“

The centralised processing centre (CPC) at Bangalore ha completed processing of all e filed tax returns for the assess ment year 2010-11. The tax department has said all refund claims below R 10 lakh would be issued their I-T refunds by March 2011.

Two more CPCs are set to come up at Manesar and Pune in the next financial year, and a fourth one at Kolkata in 2012.

  2. If you aren't familar with taxes I guess it would be good, but by the same token, if you aren't familiar then there were many places where it was obtuse in explaining what to do. I used it mainly to efile quickly and it took a lot longer than just writing it up on paper. Once I was through I was still waiting for what Deluxe would give me - I only saw the same features as most free problems.

  3. My tax refund cheque for the year 2010-11 was sent by IT department through speedpost. However, since I had changed my residence, the same was returned. Thereafter, I got my address updated with the IT department, and sent the details to the department through Courier at their Bangalore office address. I received it back undelivered. Thereafter I resubmitted the same on 22 Feb 2012 through ordinary post. But till date, I did not receive any information about the fate of the refund.

    What should I do now? My PAN No. is AARPS9745H.

  7. My pan card no. AFXPJ7713H tax refund cheque for the year 2010-11 was sent by IT department through speedpost. However, since I had changed my residence, the same was returned.   12. I am expecting refund from IT department for the financial year 2010-2011. I have filed the return in july 2011.
    I have notreceived any refund. Nor is it appearing on the Tax Information Network utility.
    Please guide what to do.
    Somebody suggested to write application to IT department to know what is the delay.
    but I am stuck what application.. to whom.

    1. No documents are required to attach ,,Just fill income tax return form and deposit in income tax office
